John Root believes that the key to a successful organization rests in their ability to develop and manage conscious team members. By cultivating a culture where thoughtfulness, responsibility and hard work are rewarded, great managers can guide through their actions and share in the responsibility of attaining goals. John was first introduced to the conscientious team philosophy by his father and mentor, and together they built Audio Visual Headquarters (AVHQ) into one of the largest privately held audio-visual staging and rental business in the industry.

With over 40 years of experience in operations, sales, and business development with a number of companies that included Sony Corporation, GE Capital, Caribiner Communications, Jack Morton Communications, Bexel Global Broadcast Solutions and Guitar Center. John’s management and organizational philosophies have brought him success whether it be in manufacturing, wholesale and retail distribution, or marketing. He possesses intimate knowledge of a variety of business sectors including marketing communications, entertainment productions, broadcast, motion pictures, equipment rental, pharmaceutical, biotech, enterprise software, consumer electronics, aerospace and automotive industries.

John began coaching five years ago after witnessing organizations with great products, services and ideas limit themselves through poor execution. Through progressive strategies for optimizing customer and channel relationships, he has guided clients that include Riedel Communications, JetWave Wireless, Wisycom USA, and 2G Digital to new levels of success. He is currently providing coaching services with several Techstars clients in collaboration with Evolution. John has passion for coaching executives, middle management, and sales teams to effect lasting change through building a culture rooted in conscientious effort.

John has attended Rudolf Schaeffer School of Design, studied psychology at University of Santa Monica and communications at San Francisco College. He has continued his education with courses in finance, business and psychology at UCLA, and is a passionate reader focusing on organizational development, psychology and political science.
